Volunteer

It would be impossible for the The Women's Resource to accomplish our mission without volunteers. Last year, our volunteers gave more than 3,000 hours of service by teaching 450 classes, serving as guest speakers for Project LEAD, assisting with two major events, and guiding our committees.

Our ability to reach over 5,500 Houstonians is a direct result of the dedication of a stellar group of men and women who come from all industries and occupations.  We actively encourage corporate volunteerism and can help your company accomplish its goal to positively impact the community.

What Do Volunteer Instructors Say About Teaching?

“My first class…was a lot of fun.  The preparation material you provide is extremely helpful in making it easy for the instructor and students too.”  - Pat Bodin

The reason I volunteer to teach these classes is because I believe we make the best choices we can based on the information that we have. So the more information we have the better choice we can make.   - Sharon Taylor

By preparing all materials, offering classes free of charge, scheduling the classes, and matching volunteers, The Women's Resource enables our partner agencies to fully concentrate on their mission and allows volunteers to do what they love- teach!  We hope YOU will join us.
